Novacomet celebrating 60 years of equipment manufacture
Regulator manufacturer Novacomet of Italy, well renowned all over the world celebrates 60 years of lp gas equipment manufacture, we take a look back at some of the highlights and people.
Before becoming part of the current Clesse Industries group in 1997 – gas regulator and equipment manufacturing started in 1955 under the name of Comet by founder Mr Giovanni Cesaretto in a small workshop in Brescia with 3 employees
The company grew developing a range of small leisure regulators, valves and cast iron stoves and continued to do so following a move in 1969 to the current site of Torbole a few miles south of the original location; the name was also changed to Novacomet, later producing up to 2 million regulators per year exporting all over the world.
From 1980’s through to 2005 the company produced a wide range of product from clip-on and screw in regulators, however since then production of small simple commodity type products in the EU became un-economical so after rationalisation Novacomet is now firmly focused on technical and tank pressure regulation with UK being its biggest single customer, with approximately 40% of all bulk tanks now fitted with a Novacomet regulator.
Integral part of the success within Clesse industries today, Novacomet retains its Italian pioneering spirit, development knowhow and savoir-faire under the guidance of general manager Claudio Peli.
Supported by a highly experienced team in particular Bruno Aguiari, having completed 38 years of service in the technical and design department. Bruno is instrumental in the development and definition of the UK tank kit approach, 1st stage APZ400, APS2000, and the second stage BP 2402 range, together with being active participant in Italian LP gas standards.
Bruno’s meticulous eye on detail continues to challenge and improve designs he first worked on when he started with the company back in the 70’s. Completing the new AP2 1st stage Monitor regulator incorporating telemetry capability and now moving onto renewing the commercial range 2nd stage BP2402 regulators
As then 60 years ago, Novacomet continues to thrive on having direct relationships with customers, culture of continuous development and recognise that to achieve success you need real people with experience and passion of its products.
